Pulpotomy, on the other hand, is a procedure typically performed on primary (baby) teeth when the infection or decay has reached the pulp chamber but has not extended into the tooth's roots. It involves the removal of the infected portion of the pulp, followed by the placement of a medicated filling to promote healing and preserve the remaining healthy tooth structure.
